SamplerFX
Shortcircuit Free [Sampler] by VemberAudio
VSTWin added 08/05/2006

Shortcircuit Free is a free version of the Shortcircuit sampler VSTi that is limited to 2-note polyphony and 2 instances.
Each voice in shortcircuit features two filter-slots, and the selection isn't limited to the traditional pick. In addition to the regular lowpass/highpass/bandpass/notch & peak-filters and variations thereof there is an array of filter algorithms (not strictly filters in the traditional sense, but called so because of their location in the audio path) including distortion, parametric/graphic/morphing equalizers,bit-reduction/decimation, gating, limiting, slew-rate distortion, ring-modulation, frequency shifting and phase-modulation (better known as FM). The selection even includes analog-style oscillators that you can mix with the sample.
LiveCut [A live beat-slicer] by mdsp @ smartelectronix
VSTWinMac added 07/05/2006

Livecut is based on BBCut the BreakBeat Cutting library written by Nick Collins for SuperCollider.
It is a live beat-slicer but instead of manipulating equal chunks of audio like most beatslicers do, it works on the notion of audio cuts whose length and number of repetition depends on the context and the cutting procedure. Cuts are organized in blocks which then form a phrase.
LiveSync Recorder (LSR) [Records and exports WAV loops synced to BPM] by Devine Machine Software
VSTWin added 26/06/2003

LiveSync Recorder is a VST FX plugin which lets you capture, preview, and export audio as 1 or 2-bar loops, all in sync with your host's BPM! This is a very useful plugin for recording musicians; you can essentially keep only the good parts of one's performance while they jam!
It is also a great plug-in for grabbing those "happy accidents" right after they happen.... Never lose that "magic moment" that occurs while tweaking a VSTi or VST FX again!
The commercial version of LSR has 8-bar record+save buffers instead of 2-bar as in the free version, which makes it much less manic to operate! This is a great tool for capturing and creating a bunch of variations/loops quickly.
Buffer Synth [Buffer player] by ndc Plugs
VSTWin added 03/04/2003

Writes the input audio to a buffer and them lets you 'play' it (i.e. control the size of the buffer, and the speed at which it's played through) - works best if you've got a MIDI keyboard connected. I know the name's a misnomer, but I couldn't think of anything else to call it. (Delphi)
Coldcutter [Loop Rearranger] by Marcus Clements
VSTWin added 06/03/2003

The Coldcutter is designed to chop a loop into a number of slices or 'cuts' and rearranges them randomly in real-time according to a number of parameters. The current version of the Coldcutter was primarily designed for use with Ableton Live 1.5 but works with Cubase etc...
Relofter [Wave Looper/Mangler] by ioplong
VSTWin added 08/02/2003

Relofter is a Wave Looper/Mangler. It can Record from Audio Input (when Record Button is on) or Load Audio Files from Disk via Drag and Drop. To Load a File just drop it somewhere on the plugin. Use the Grainmove Slider to Activate the 'StretchGrainyInnerloop' Play Modus. Ctrl+Click on the Grainmove Slider sets it back to normal Play Modus. U can set the Playdirection of the Grainy_Innerloop Indepent from Main Direction with the Graindirection Button. When Restart is Switched on, the Loop is Restarted every x't Bar (->textfield), Synced to Host-Songposition.
Sloper [Stutter-timestretch] by ioplong
VSTWin added 08/02/2003

Buffer-Innerloop-Scanner-Delay. Good for Stutter and pseudo Timestretch FX. Innerloop-Size and Move Parameters are depending on Host BPM Settings.
Scrubber [Time-stretcher] by dunk
VSTWin added 06/02/2003

This is the alpha version of Scrubber. I made it for doing the time-stretching "Dread-voice" thing you hear in a lot of old jungle and drum and bass. Of course, it's kinda got out of hand and bloated with options and functions - syncing to tempo, nasty granular stuff and a whole bunch of ways to control the playback with the mouse in the waveform window...
Decimator [Bit / Sample Rate Reduction] by Tobybear
VSTWin added 03/02/2003

Decimator is a little effect plugin that consists of a bit quantizer and sample rate reducer followed by a LP/HP filter.
Part of the SourceBag collection (donationware).
Phutboyslim [Inline Sampler] by scuzzphut
VSTWin added 30/10/2002

Phutboyslim is a quick 'n' dirty inline sampler. It is designed to be inserted in the master output fx rack and functions by constantly sampling the last "x" beats of the input signal (your whole mix, usually). When it receives a midi note, it constantly plays back that buffer until the midi note is released, at which point the source material is allowed through again. Think of the stuttering samples in yer typical fatboy slim tune and you'll have a good idea of what phutboyslim can do for you...
MadShifta! [Ultrafast and Lofi Pitchshifter] by TobyBear Vs. Bram @ SmartElectron:x
VSTWinMac added 21/08/2002

This new mad contraption does lo-fi pitch-shifting and mental feedback effects!! It even has midi control over the pitch shifting. The code is based on a basic pitch-shifter, coded by Bram in C, translated by Toby to Delphi. Toby added some more features and a funkie GUI... There aren't many VST plugins coded in Delphi so both Bram and Toby thought it was a good idea to open-source it!...
Scrubby [Scrub FX] by Destroy FX
VSTWinMacAudio Unit added 11/07/2002

Scrubby remembers the last few seconds of your audio signal and plays it back by zipping around to random points within it. That memory of sound is called a delay buffer. You define a range that Scrubby can look back through and a rate at which Scrubby will seek new target destinations and then, at the beginning of each seeking cycle, a new target is chosen somewhere within the seek range of the delay buffer. Then Scrubby travels over to that target position, speeding up or slowing down playback as necessary, moving backwards or forwards...
VCS Reducer [Bit/Rate Reducer] by Virtualcreations
VSTWin added 06/07/2002

Bit/Rate-Reducer vst audio effect with pre- and after cutoff filters. Runs on most vst hosts. Gives you the ability to create Daft Punk like chord sounds, cool lofi beats and more. Version 2 now comes with 3 interpolation algorithms, lp/hp filters, 2 bit reducers and improvements! Read dox for detailed infos and listen to example mp3 snippet. Report any bugs here, this is a rc. Windows only. V2 and V1 work side by side.

+decimate [Bit depth / sample rate reduction] by Tom Erbe and Akira Rabelais
VSTWinMac added 13/01/2002

Helios [Simple Sampler] by Tobybear
VSTWin added 04/12/2001

Helios is a little sampler unit, intended to explore the more creative side of sampling and not really meant to replace full-fledged samplers. Rather regard it as a fun and wicked live performance tool :-) It can load a single WAV file and tweak it live in realtime to produce some really strange sounds.
Part of the InsBag collection (donationware)
dfx bufferoverride [Stutter FX] by Super Destroy FX
VSTWinMacAudio Unit added 11/07/2002

Buffer Override can overcome your VST host's audio processing buffer size & then (unsuccessfully) override that new buffer size to be a smaller buffer size. It makes a lot more sense if you just try it out & hear what it does. It can sound like a stuttery vocoder or a stuck beat shuffler or many other delightful things. In certain hosts, you can also "play" Buffer Override via MIDI notes & even sync it to song tempo.
Deconstructor [Step MultiFX] by Tobybear
VSTWin added 05/11/2001

Deconstructor takes your input signal, splits it into 8 equal pieces and lets you then determine how these pieces should be arranged and processed. While the algorithm itself is pretty simple, a broad variety of "classic" effects can be reproduced in a very simple way, for example Pitchshifting, Autopanner, Tremolo, Delay, Simple Reverb, Simple Vocoder, and so on... But don't forget that its true power lies in the combination of different processing methods to produce new, strange and sometimes very exciting effects...
A basic version of Deconstructor FX with limited features is available. The basic version is not time-limited or save disabled!
VReorder [Instant breakbeat reorderer] by Vellocet
VSTWinMac added 05/11/2001

Current release: 3 (6.6.98)Some users have reported problems with crashes using Cubase 5.0 and even our own VS1. A new commercial and demo version of VReorder will be available by the end of November 2000 which will fix these problems. The new version will be a vst2 instrument with full midi support.
